There's always revisiting later if we feel the need to too. At least, before other things start to happen.
Hmmm.. [ they fall quiet in their thoughts ] This place really stands out compared to everything else... doesn't it? Almost everywhere until now has been semi-busy, but not here.
You think there's really a reason for it? Maybe everybody else who came through here got so creeped out, too, they didn't want to look around anymore. I wouldn't blame them, but seems a little...plausible.
[ they glance over at him, head tilting with similar curious vibes, before moving back into the corridor. time to check out the house's kitchen. ]
Only things I've heard from others on the ship. Stella would mention sometimes hearing singing on the ship, from the empty cargo bay... it would be things like that, right?
Little things like that count, yeah. But some ghosts aren't as nice. Sometimes they're a little less patient and a little less hidden. A little more...uh...vengeful, maybe.
[ into the kitchen they go, and he starts to open cabinets even as he coughs away a little dust. ]
I don't think there's any real rule for how a ghost behaves. It's just about having something keeping them from passing on.
You sound as if you speak from experience with them... Are they that common?
[ Their actions are a bit more quiet, slower, as they open drawers and peek around. only because they're more interested in what he's sharing than what might be found in empty drawers. ]
Something keeping them from passing on... [ this part is echoed a bit more quieter to themselves.]
[ there's a sharp drop in his emotions even if his tone and expression don't change. ]
No. I'd never seen them before the island, actually. They're usually just in stories. But that's right. Something keeping them from passing on, or something they want to accomplish. One of the two.
They are, yes. ..There can be a universe where they don't appear but, obviously not something I can reach. Not in my loops.
[ ... ] I just.. know anytime I'm infected, I try to win and beat the loop as fast as I can. The sooner, the better. I.. I don't like being that way for long. Having those thoughts in my head.
..Yes. I'm just constantly haunted by the urge and thoughts of wanting to eliminate humans. So long as I stay within those loops where I'm infected, I can't get away from it.
[ the emotions that come from them are more akin to static. a mix of dread... guilt... some more tormented feelings. to go from being just yourself to something so twisted... as simple as a switch? it's terrifying. ] But.. at least there is no worry about Gnosia here.
[ of course, had there been.. it probably would have been obvious right away. ]
[ stop using their gnosia icon on me im so sad. but anyway, jonas can recognize those emotions, and it means he's just adjusting his own to try and exude calm. a little apologetic for the things he's been asking. ]
...sounds pretty scary when you know yourself better. [ hum. ] At least Gnosia can't get you here. You're safe from that much. And even if it were...we'd figure something out.
[ hehe.. Their emotions flicker, before attempting to reel in at that calm, quieting down. they have no qualms with Jonas asking, for wanting to know. it's the idea of Gnosia possibly following that would have caused some concern. but it's fine. ]
...If it did have a way of following me here, priority would be to get rid of it immediately. But we would figure something out, yes. For now, we just have this house to finish looking through...
[ they know talk of Gnosia is a rather grim talk. if it starts to turn on how many they've killed... how many they have watched get erased by their own hand, how it happens. they shake their head, refocusing on their exploration. ] ..Sorry, shall we?

[ they'll move over, glancing the way they came with a careful look. the vibes in this place do give off that feeling. ]

Setsu, what do you know about ghost stories anyway?

...I can understand the sentiment of wanting to accomplish something, especially something important. It would be hard to move on if it wasn't done.
[ poor ghosts but also valid. ]

Even at the expense of other people?

Maybe, it depends. [ complicated. ]

Depends on what?

[ they just think, you know, if they were a ghost and had something important to do... they wouldn't be able to move on.

As far as I've seen, ghosts only really want to save themselves. So. I don't know if I could agree. But it's okay, I was just wondering.

Mm, I would have to take your word for it. At most I'm used to dealing with just people and Gnosia. Not really ghosts so.
[ but there's a frown as they give thought that they would only want to save themselves. ghosts are... selfish...? ]

But the Gnosia are pretty bad too, right? You can't really get away from them no matter what loop you're in.

Sure. Let's see what else there is.
[ and we can handwave they explored before getting spooked and leaving to gently close this thread. ]
