I haven't tried with another person yet, so...good to know it's that easy. And I want to see if it boosts if it's both of us together anyway. So let's try it.
[ that sounds about right to him. so he will start to lead them to the coliseum! ]
Oh...yeah that sounds about right. No matter where you go you can't touch anything in those places without somebody getting mad.
There weren't any side effects for the person that was taken with, from what Nahida told me. Which I wouldn't have been too worried to think about with two Drift users working together. [ it's just good to know in general though. ] But so long as I had some kind of contact with her... the teleport happened naturally.
[ they can squirrel feed another time, it is pole stealing time from the coliseum. ]
I wonder if it's also because some of those relics are a bit familiar to those here.
I didn't even think about side effects of other psych users. So at least we can rule that out. That helps a lot. We can take a person with us but I wonder how big of an object we can take, too. I mean we can test that later. It's not like what we're taking from the coliseum's going to be that big.
[ hold on. ]
Wait we can't both go in and both get out together if one of us has to take the rod. [ he'll go back to the relic thing in a second. ]
I'm not sending you in with a lion. [ the lion might not even be there? ] Plus I could use the practice in the first place since you already went with Nahida. I haven't tried with another person or item yet.
It's alright, I have my military experience, remember? I'd be able to handle myself if there's one around. [ No Fear! ] I.. I get needing the practice, but we can do that anytime. And...I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if you went in and got hurt because of me. [ :( ]
I get that I don't have the same experience, but I think I can hold my own pretty okay. And also...unlike someone I know, if I did get hurt I wouldn't refuse healing. [ the gentlest callout. ]
then promptly. closes. hrm. arms come to a cross, brows furrowing as they glance off to the side, then back to him. they, unfortunately, can't argue here. ]
...Call me if you need help. I'll come right away.
I'll be fine. It'll be in and out, and if it makes you feel better we can...I don't know. Stake out the area first to make sure it's clear before heading in.
[ he's not always used to actually scouting? sometimes he truly just goes off to do his own thing or he follows others into doing things, so be proud of him. it means they make their way to the coliseum, and they make their way up to a couple of seats to watch the arena below. ]
I've seen stuff like this in movies a couple of times, but never really up close or in person.
[ i zetsu am personally proud of him. though, Setsu technically is too, since they're glad for not only the suggestion but follow-up of it. as they make their way to the seating do they peer down. hmmm... looks quiet so far. ]
..Oh. The video things? [ im glad jonas icly brought this up. ] I've managed to watch a "movie" once before all of this... it's pretty interesting. Though, I wouldn't really say the movie we watched was... I ended up falling asleep through it.
Yeah. Oh. [ he seems to realize about half a second later where this is going. ] I guess you didn't have a lot of chances on your base to see stuff like that. But it sounds like the one you did see was pretty boring.
[ setsu help. ]
With the way things are, maybe we'll get a movie theater or something? The four of us could go. I promise they're not all that bad.
Not really, especially since it's something that came from Earth so even those on other planets aren't overly familiar with it as well. Unless you were a fanatic fan like Shigemichi...
[ this is canon btw. they genuinely learned about movies. this i can say i didn't pull out of my ass ]
Hehe, I wouldn't mind if it's something you guys want to do. The "apocalypse story with zombies" just mostly left me lost so.. [ they got sleepy trying to understand and knocked out. ]
[ i'm in tears, i'm glad. jonas is kind of like :o hearing about it though. ]
Why not? That's the kind of thing you do with your friends on earth anyway. You go to a movie, and if it's terrible you spend the whole movie talking and throwing popcorn at the screen. [ no. ]
You do? I would have to take your word for it.. I only have some of the details Shigemichi told me to rely on so. [ which also are probably not accurate. SO THEY REALLY WILL BELIEVE JONAS. ]
Shigemichi is... someone that would appear in some loops, back on the interstellar cruise. He's human, but has a rather "alien-like" appearance. He's got a friendly and sincere personality so he's generally easy to get along with.
[ he could ask, and they would explain if he really wanted to know. he already knows quite a lot about their life as is. ]
At a minimum in some loops, there are five of us. The maximum would be up to... fifteen people. So it could be anywhere between five to fifteen depending.
That's a pretty big range. [ which is wild to think about that the number of people isn't always the same either. ] So it was like...if you were trying to meet certain criteria for that loop, certain people would or wouldn't be there?
[ they blink at him with some surprise, before smiling a little. ] Catching on already?
That's right. Certain criteria are met depending on the people there, what kind of roles we had, and so forth. Depending on it could proc some insightful events. Some of that would involve trying to keep certain people alive, which is... quite difficult to do.
But sometimes a loop will carry on through with nothing new happening. So it wasn't always guaranteed.
[ some of that feels familiar in a few different ways, actually. he doesn't seem to think there's anything weird in what they've said, and all of the information tracks with what he already knew from them. they aren't even hard concepts to grasp, but he's aware that his situation is a little...different. ]
Did you get to at least know what was going to happen or what criteria you needed to meet before the loop would start again?
Though the "Silver Key" allowed me to keep all my memories with each loop, I wasn't exactly aware of what criteria I needed always. [ they ponder on their words. ] Though, if something happened during a loop that I needed more information on... I would keep it in mind for the next loop.
[ a brief pause. ]
Such as... there was someone that had been Gnosia, that knew more about Gnosia than I ever knew. But since they were caught, we couldn't get any more information from them because they were getting sent into cold sleep. So, when the loop ended and a new one began... I knew we had to keep them safe until we were able to learn more from them.
Like a past version of looping yourself having hints to help your current looping self. But it's all...you. So even if nothing else changed, you would know going in what to do to force a change yourself. Yeah, I think I get it. It all sounds...really complicated to keep all of the rules in mind.
[ also, kind of glad it's not him. ]
...ours weren't that drastic. The loops were always small, like I said, and it always felt a little more like...deja vu? Not like we didn't remember what had happened before that, but just not being away of the few minutes before the loop or that we looped. There were three other people on the island with us, so when the loops would happen different things would happen to those people, or we would run into someone else, or we'd go someplace else.
After over a hundred loops, you get very familiar with all the rules and setups.
[ is that a good thing? probably not. but they're familiar with it, accustomed, and have accepted their life to be that so. ]
Was it almost always you and Alex? [ they know he wasn't technically the center of the loops, that it was rather Alex but. ] Did any of the others start to notice over time or become a bit aware like you? Or was it only you?
I'd hope so, but...it's still not a great thing to be familiar with either.
[ thinking this over...he shrugs. ]
It was always me and Alex, yeah. We spent pretty much that whole night together, so when the loops would happen we were both there. I'm pretty sure the others didn't notice. It took me a while to catch on, but none of them ever said anything when we caught up with them again.

[ well. uh. their cheeks burn a bit red, their free hand coming up to rest against their forehead. EMBARRASSING.... ]
I... completely forgot. [ aaaaaa ] Then, hmm... I can just go in myself! I'm the one that wants to make a fishing pole in the first place, so.

Shall we then?
